Pathfinder Training

Most Pathfinder employees are required to have a certain number of hours of in-service training each year.
Not filling the in-service training requirement may result in termmination.
Check with your immediate supervisor for your specific in-service training requirements.

NEW EMPLOYEES

Every new employee is required to take General Orientation within 30 days of their hire date to acquaint them with the philosophies, programs, practices and goals of Pathfinder. This takes 6 hours.

Direct-care Staff, including employees from Preschool I, Preschool II, Workshops, Mental Health employees, employees who work at a DDS-funded residential facility supervised by ICF/MR staff, residential, Waiver and Transportation, will also be required to complete the Direct Care Orientation.

First Aid - certification required for all direct care employees.

CPR - 50% of direct care staff members must be trained and certified to provide CPR. Staff to be trained and certified will be left to the discretion of the facility supervisor.

Note: First Aid/CPR hours DO NOT count toward in-service training hours; they are required courses.

After the first year and each year thereafter as long as you are employed with Pathfinder, Inc., you must attend an Employee Annual review. This training reviews the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens and lasts approximately 1 hour. Check the calendar for scheduled classes. The Employee Annual Review is required and in-service training credit is not received for this class. The training schedule is also listed in The Pathfinder Chronicle.

Below are some of the training you can do online. Each training that is done online requires that you print and submit a signed worksheet to Judy Westmoreland for credit.
